May leads Oasis Academy runners at North Tahoe meet

With most of its strongest results coming from the younger divisions, Oasis Academy relied on individual performances last Friday at the North Tahoe Madman Mills Motivational meet, led by freshman Vinzenzo May, who placed 21st in 24:00 in the 2.8‑mile freshman boys race. Zayden Maynez finished 30th in 26:31.

In the sophomore boys 2.8‑mile race, Keagan Craig led Oasis with a 29th‑place finish in 25:59.

Oasis fielded four runners in the 3.3‑mile varsity boys race. Leonidas Arcoraci finished 69th in 27:51, followed by Elijah Jones (96th, 34:25), Jose Montalvo (98th, 36:05) and Kamron Bracken (102nd, 37:49).

In the frosh/soph girls 2.8‑mile race, Sonora McInturff finished 63rd in 39:11, Faith Torres‑May placed 65th in 39:31, and PhoenYx Mathes finished 71st in 46:18.

Oasis did not have runners in the varsity girls division.

This week the Bighorns are scheduled to compete in the Run the Rubies Elko Invitational in Lamoille Canyon on Friday, with the first race beginning at 1 p.m..
