Lions Club Names Labor Day Parade Winners

The Fallon Lions Club announced the winners of its 2026 Labor Day Parade, which celebrated Churchill County educators.

• Civic Award: Holy Trinity Church
• Automobile: Weekend Only Car Club
• Business: Likety Split Car Wash
• Mounted Horse Group: Fallon Horsemen's Association
• Youth Group: FYFL Pop Warner Greenwave Cheer Squad
• Antique Farm Implement: Combine featuring candidate Amber Getto
• President's Award: Churchill County High School Navy Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps
• Most Creative: Churchill County Transportation
• Best Use of Theme: Fallon Dental Studio

The winning entrants will be invited to receive their awards and have their photographs taken during the Fallon Lions Club's first meeting in October.

Educators Recognized as Grand Marshals

Four Churchill County School District educators served as grand marshals:

• Stacey Manning, Lahontan Elementary School
• Monica Fairbanks, Churchill County High School
• Keith Sluyter, Churchill County High School
• Jaime Sammons, Churchill County High School

Lyon County educator Octavia Merritt also joined them.
