The Oasis Academy volleyball team battled on nearly even terms against both Battle Mountain and West Wendover last weekend before coming up just short both times.
None of the four sets on either Friday against Battle Mountain or Saturday against West Wendover were decided by more than five points, and five of the eight were decided by either two or three points,
However, it was Battle Mountain that came away with the win Friday night, 25-22, 25-22, 21-25, 25-20.
Saturday was even closer, as Oasis had control in all the sets but was unable to finish. West Wendover won the first two sets. Oasis held on to take the third set but lost the fourth and deciding set, as West Wendover claimed the 26-24, 26-24.20-25, 27-25.
The Bighorns will try to take the next step this week, when they host Silver Stage at 5 p.m. Wednesday, and play at Coral Academy Friday at 5 p.m.
