FFA Attends Summer
Leadership Camp

Fourteen members of the Oasis FFA chapter attended the annual Nevada FFA Summer Leadership Camp in Lake Tahoe in June along with approximately 150 students from throughout Nevada.

The students learned leadership skills, networked, learned about opportunities within FFA, and participated in chapter bonding activities. The fun included swimming, basketball, and volleyball tournaments, relay races, and training sessions.

“SLC was full of kind people. I had a lot of fun swimming in Tahoe, playing volleyball with people from other chapters, and making connections. While I was there, I learned about the importance of being an individual and utilizing your own strengths to help your team. This will be especially valuable to me because this year we have a large number of new officers and I’m very excited to see how all of our different values play into our overall teamwork,” said Enedye Rios, Oasis FFA Chapter Secretary.

“The Leadership Camp is one of the highlights of the year for our FFA members. It is a wonderful introduction for our new members to what FFA is and allows new and current members to further develop their leadership skills. The strategies the students learn through fun-interactive activities are brought back and create a strong foundation for the year to come. On top of building relationships within our chapter, the students create strong bonds with fellow FFA students from throughout Nevada,” added FFA Advisor Jackie Bogdanowicz.

“Jackie has built a strong FFA program that continues to grow at Oasis Academy College Prep. The leadership camp is a great team-building experience for her and the students. A huge thank you to her for working so hard year-round to build a quality program for our students,” added Rochelle Tisdale, CAO.
