Obituary - Cynthia Ann Holmgren

Cynthia Ann Holmgren

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved sister, Cynthia Ann Holmgren, who passed away on February 27, 2024, at the age of 34 due to a mass pneumonia infection caused by previous complications.

Cindy, as she was fondly known, was born on October 23, 1989, in Butte, Montana, to Terry Towell and Valerie Hansen. Cindy was placed into LDS Social Services at three years old and later adopted by David and Jackie Holmgren. She grew up on the Rawhide Ranch, not far from Gabbs, alongside one of her biological siblings, Janet Holmgren. Cindy was homeschooled until high school, where she attended Gabbs High.

Cindy was a loving sister and friend, always willing to lend a helping hand and a listening ear. Her warm personality, infectious smile, and generous heart made her an instant favorite among all who knew her. She had a passion for animals, anything Harry Potter, and was a die-hard fan of BTS, which she shared with her family and friends.

Despite facing many challenges in her life, Cindy fought through and persevered through it all. She was a fighter till the end, and her unwavering faith in God was an inspiration to us all.

Cindy is survived by her three young children, Cole Molina (14), Wesley Quick (10), and Lucian Orange (9). Her parents, her siblings Christina Hernandez (Antonio), Jason Anderson, Daniel Anderson, David Hollenbeck (Steffanie), Janet Holmgren, Melissa Williams (Jonathon), 21 nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Her life will be celebrated in a service followed by a light luncheon. We will miss her dearly, but take comfort in the fact that she is now in a better place, free from pain and suffering. May her soul rest in eternal peace.

Services will be held at the LDS church at 450 N. Taylor St., Fallon, NV 89406, at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 9, 2024.

A GoFundMe has been set up to help support Cindy’s children. If you would like to donate, please visit.

He was a good friends with my Dad and always had an entertaining story for the occasion. One of my most favorite stories Paul told dated back to the late 60s or early 70s and it revolved around him killing a deer way out in the mountains. Naturally the deer ran down into a deep canyon and died. Knowing that it would take him forever to haul it out he devised an awesome plan. After preparing the deer he drove back to NAS Fallon and rustled up a SAR crew and they flew out and picked up the deer. Of course it was labeled as a training flight but what the hell in those days you could do that sort of thing. Rest in Peace my friend until we meet again!!Comment publication date: 4/11/24, 1:15 PMComment source: Obituary - LCDR Paul N Pflimlin
