The City of Fallon and Visit Fallon is proud to promote CrossFit Powerstroke’s annual Partner Throwdown competition happening April 15 and 16. The functional fitness competition will be hosted inside Fallon’s Rafter 3C Arena. The one-of-a-kind competition will consist of two-person teams competing in high-intensity style workouts and weightlifting events over the course of two days.

“Every year, the CrossFit Powerstroke Partner Throwdown brings together athletes of all skill levels under one roof to not only compete but have a great time for the love of the sport,” said Sean Sweeney, Owner of CrossFit Powerstroke and CrossFit Games athlete. “This year, we are excited that the City of Fallon and Visit Fallon are supporting the growth of this event by allowing us to use the Rafter 3C Arena. This is going to be the largest competition event we’ve had since the inception of the Partner Throwdown to date.”

The competition expects to see athletes not only from Nevada, but from all across the West Coast from places like Northern California, Utah, and Southern Oregon

“We have seen the tremendous growth of CrossFit Powerstroke’s Partner Throwdown over the years and can’t wait to see what is next on the horizon,” said Mayor Ted Kenford. “ We appreciate Sean’s dedication to the City of Fallon by creating a popular annual event not only for local athletes looking to compete but for the public to spectate. Events, like this one, help our local economy by bringing visitors to town.”

Spots are still available for athletes with an entry fee of $250 a team. The deadline for athletes to register is April 7. To sign up, click here.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams in each competition category. Spectators will also have the chance to win prizes at the event. For those who would like to watch the competition, spectating is free and open to the public.
