Fallon Churchill Fire Department Responds to Fire at Safety Kleen Facility

Update: According to Anne McMillin, Churchill County Public Information Officer, there were no reported injuries and everyone was safely evacuated.

 

The Fallon Churchill Fire Department responded to a 6 a.m. call for a fire at the Safety Kleen oil recycling facility on Bango Road in Churchill County this morning.

The department responded in force with multiple engines and trucks to the site and assisted with the self-evacuation of approximately 15 employees. Department personnel assessed the fire and attacked it offensively, successfully extinguishing it around 7:35 a.m. No further evacuations beyond the plant were necessary.

Local and state officials have been informed and the fire department will remain on scene as long as necessary.
