Carol's Book Review

Good Anxiety: Harnessing the Power of the Most Misunderstood Emotion by Dr. Wendy Suzuki
Carol's Book Review

This has been a tough year for many folks given Covid, wildfires, and anything else that might be going on personally and professionally. And the result might be anxiety which manifests itself in different ways, sleeplessness, stress, and worry to name a few.

Dr. Suzuki explains that anxiety’s evolutionary purpose is to draw attention to venerability and by looking at it and dealing with it (as opposed to ignoring it) there is the opportunity for life improvement.

Included is the science of anxiety, how to cope with anxiety, and how to boost your creativity. Research-based data and the author’s personal experience make for an interesting and informative read.

This title is available in print at the library.

Carol is the Director of the Churchill County Library. She gets anxious from time to time and looks forward to reading this book.
