Obituary - Don Hesselgesser Don Hesselgesser

Born in Delta, Utah on September 16, 1939, to John R. and Helen Mae (Tolbert) Hesselgesser, Don Hesselgesser passed away at home suddenly and unexpectedly on January 23, 2023, at the age of 83.

Don graduated from White Pine County High School in spring of 1958. Don joined the Operating Engineers Local #3. He worked on many of the highways in Northern Nevada. 

He married Elaine Hibel on December 16, 1959, and together they raised three sons. During this time Don worked as a truck driver/salesman for Mooremans Livestock Feed and Northrup King Seeds.

In later years he began breeding, raising and training mules. He leveled fields, harvested hay, and traveled the 40 Mile Desert Wagon Trail Crossing twice. He participated in Parades and 4H events with his mules that he deeply loved. 

Don is survived by his wife of 63 years Elaine Hesselgesser, his three sons John Hesselgesser and wife Rhonda of Silver Springs, NV, and Robert Hesselgesser of Carlin, NV, and Don William Hesselgesser of Fallon, Nv., his 12 grandchildren, and seven Great-Grandchildren. Don is also survived by his two brothers John Dee Hesselgesser and wife Yolanda of Sparks, Nv, Harry Sherman Hesslgesser of Portland, OR, and sister Darlene Wyllie of Elko, Nv., as well as numerous nieces and nephews and the many that adopted him as their Grandpa Don. 

The services will be held at a later date. The arrangements will be held at The Gardens Funeral Home.
