Obituary - Steven J. “Steve” Birtzer Steve Birtzer

Steven J. “Steve” Birtzer, age 80 of Fallon, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, January 5, 2023, surrounded by his family.

He was born on May 22, 1942 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, the son of Loren and Beverly (McLaughlin) Birtzer. He was a proud veteran of the U S Navy. He was a man of many trades; opened a service station with his dad, drove tractor-trailers, and was a mechanic at NAS Fallon, Nevada, where he retired. 

He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed cold beer, watching football, and lifting weights. He was quite the ladies’ man. 

He will be sadly missed by his siblings, Lynn (John) Leirmo; Mike Birtzer, Roxanne (Rick) Staggs; children, Teri Lynn Birtzer; Tanya (Jamie) Crawford their children, Montana and Lance; Tracey (Dan) Olson and their children, Boe and Cordel; Mandy (Ron) Brough and their daughter, Darian; Jess Birtzer; Melissa (Christian) West and their children, Carl, Wyatt, Christina, Lillian, and Brenton and many lifelong friends and many others that called him dad. 

Steve was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Terry and Vic, and his son, Daniel.

A Gathering to Celebrate Steve’s life will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the American Legion in Fallon, Nevada at 90 North Ada Street from 3 p.m. until the doors close.  It will be a potluck.
