We have a great lineup of movies for you this week starting Friday, September 16th at 6 p.m. with the great 2003 film “Secondhand Lions.” A coming-of-age story about a shy, young boy named Walter who is sent by his irresponsible mother to spend the summer with his wealthy, eccentric uncles in Texas. Rumors say his uncles have stolen a lot of gold and money. Some say from Al Capone. Did they, or didn’t they? Starring Robert Duvall, Michael Caine, and Haley Joel Osment. Our second feature that evening, at 6:30 is the 1997 Jim Carrey comedy “Liar Liar.”  A lawyer who is a pathological liar finds his career turned upside down when he inexplicably cannot lie for 24 whole hours. Starring Jim Carrey, Maura Tierne, Jennifer Tilly, and Amanda Donohoe.

Saturday, September 17th our 6 p.m. movie is the 1995 comedy “Babe.”  Gentle farmer Arthur Hoggett wins a piglet named Babe at the county fair who narrowly escapes his fate as Christmas dinner when Farmer Hoggett decides to show him at the next fair. Babe bonds with motherly border collie Fly and discovers that he can herd sheep, too. But will the other farm animals, including Fly's jealous husband Rex, accept a pig who doesn't conform to the farm's social hierarchy? Starring the voices of James Cromwell, Christine Cavanaugh, and Miriam Flynn. Our second great feature that night at 6:30 is the 2003 sports drama film “Radio” starring Cuba Gooding Jr., Ed Harris, and Alfre Woodard. Set in 1976, real-life Coach Jones befriends mentally disabled black student Radio. They form a friendship and bond over the football season. Things take a turn for the worst when some fans and parents feel that Radio is a distraction and getting in the way of the team succeeding.

Next weekend on Friday and Saturday, the 23rd and 24th join us for the 1993 movie “Hocus Pocus” sponsored by our friends at Huck Salt. The theatre will be transformed with fun, frolic, themed menu items, and a costume contest with prizes awarded.

As always, all movies are free.

See you at the movies!
