It was a very busy weekend at this year's Home and Garden Show at the Fallon Convention Center sponsored by Soroptimist International of Fallon. Hundreds of people visited the show, shopping and finding some amazing items. Plants and garden supplies, fresh vegetables and condiments, hand-crafted quilts, jewelry, wooden specialties, screen doors, real estate, and banking services, food, beverages, and snacks made for a shopper's delight.
Raffle prizes donated to the event were awarded all weekend, including one adult and one child's redwood outdoor table and chairs sets, and an outdoor gas grill donated by one of the Soroptimist sisters. Louie's Home Center generously donated a wheelbarrow that the Fallon Soroptimists filled with all types of gardening goodies, and this year Louie’s also donated four long-handled garden tools to accompany the wheelbarrow.
SI of Fallon President Stephanie Alexander said of the event, “Thank you to our lovely Marcia Vinson who put this event together. We had a great show. Thank you to all of our lovely ladies who came out to volunteer, we had a great time. The monies we raised this weekend from donations at the door, from the raffle prizes donated by our vendors, the Fallonopoly game sales, and outdoor table set raffles totaled $1,855.00. On Saturday we raised $1,207.00 and Sunday $648.00.”
All monies raised go toward the scholarship programs that SI of Fallon awards each year.
