The Front Street reconstruction project continues to progress and is anticipated to be completed on schedule.

According to A&K Earthmovers Front Street project foreman Todd Lehman, construction on the project extends east on Front Street from Maine Street to Humboldt Street. Improvements continue from Front Street onto Churchill Street as far as Douglas Street and onto Esmeralda as far as Fairview Street.
“As of this week, all underground utility work on Esmeralda Street has been completed,” stated Lehman. The project replaced decades-old underground infrastructure, including water lines, sewer lines, and City utilities. Construction on Front Street utilities began this week, with road grading for curbs and gutters to be underway soon.
Lehman reminds drivers not to pass through barriers and only residents may enter into areas marked “No Through Traffic.” Safety is the priority for residents, pedestrians, and construction crews.
A&K advises drivers to use alternate routes as traffic control is in place and to expect minor delays, heavy equipment, and work crews in the area.
