The district plan will allow for half the students to attend school in the morning and the other half to attend in the afternoon.

The Churchill County School Board of Trustees met Monday night, July 27th ,  and unanimously approved a hybrid format for school this year, that will begin August 25 and go until January 15, 2021. The hybrid format, called Phase II, will reopen schools on an AM/PM format. This will allow for approximately half of the students to be in their building at one time.

Pre K-5th will follow a schedule of 7:45-10:45 for the A cohort and 12:15-3:15 for the B cohort. The middle school and high school will follow a schedule for A cohort of 8-11 AM and B cohort of 12:30-3:30 PM.

Various online and offline opportunities will be available for each cohort during their out-of-class time. These schedules are only an approximate at this time as there are still many issues with bussing, meals, after school care, to still be finalized that may create slight changes in the times.

During the three-hour meeting there were many items discussed and explanations on what procedures will be in place. It was stressed by Dr. Summer Stephens, superintendent, and various board members, that it is extremely important at this time for the community, staff, parents, teachers, and board members to support each other, show our students positive role modeling, and work together with open communication.

This story will continue to be updated as more information becomes available. The complete re-opening plan can be found on the district website, here: https://www.churchillcsd.com/

Families do have an option to use a remote plan, and that information can be found here: Link to full time remote learning.
