On the eve of their big day, the CCHS Senior Class kicked off graduation Thursday night at the Fallon Airport with a Lantern Festival, launching themselves into the future.
Sponsored by Gradnite and organized by parents who had worked this year to raise money for the traditional safe and sober graduation celebration, which will not be held due to the COVID-19 situation, students were given beautiful lanterns when they picked up their caps and gowns this week. Asked to write on the lanterns their "wishes, hopes, and dreams" students met at the airport as a class for the first time since March and launched their lanterns across the desert.
A driving graduation will be held tonight beginning at 6:00 p.m. at the high school, with a live stream broadcast which can be seen by going to bit.ly/cchsgrad2020 . The school district has a website specifically for the Class of 2020 with all the information for and about the graduates at https://sites.google.com/churchillcsd.com/learningfromadistance/graduation-2020?authuser=0.
